Spooky Sips for Halloween at Home

Updated: Nov 9, 2020

Hello and happy (almost) Halloween! Spooky season is here and I'm ready to celebrate!

I have always loved everything about Halloween: the costumes, decorations, movies, candy, and now as an adult - the cocktails! And let's be honest, after this scary year I'm sure most of you who are 21+ could appreciate a festive drink right about now.

If you are new to the blog, you may not know that I started a weekly cocktail series on my Instagram Stories, called 'Sipping with Samantha', where I share easy-to-make cocktail recipes. (If you're looking to catch up on the recipes, check out my previous post here.)

As someone who typically throws or attends a Halloween party, this year is certainly looking quite different. Instead of heading out with friends, Andrew and I are staying home with the puppies - but that doesn't mean we aren't going to have a little fun!

Halloween brings so many colors, ingredients, and garnishes to play with making this the perfect opportunity to get creative. In today's post I am sharing three delicious cocktails that are sure to make your Halloween fun & festive this year!

Bad Blood Mojito

from Cosmopolitan

2 ounces Bacardi rum

1 ounce blood orange juice

1 tbsp lime juice

6-10 mint leaves

dash of bitters

top with club soda

splash of grenadine

In a cocktail shaker muddle mint & lime juice. Add ice, rum, blood orange juice, and dash of bitters. Shake and pour into Collins glass. Top with club soda and splash of grenadine.

Zombie Punch

from my personal recipe collection

1-1/2 ounce passionfruit vodka

1 ounce melon liqueur

1 ounce orange juice

top with lemon-lime soda

In rocks glass with fresh ice combine passionfruit vodka, melon liqueur, orange juice. Lightly stir and top with lemon-lime soda.

The Witching Hour

from Hendrick's Gin

2 ounces Hendrick's gin

1 ounce Chambord raspberry liquor

1 tsp lemon juice

top with prosecco

In cocktail shaker with fresh ice, combine gin, Chambord and lemon juice. Strain into champagne flute and top with prosecco. Can add purple food coloring and edible shimmer!

I hope you enjoy these cocktails as much as I enjoyed making them! Wishing you a happy, healthy, and safe Halloween. And please make sure to drink responsibly :)

Cheers!

-Samantha
