How I Ended Up Here...
Starting a blog is something I’ve dreamed about for a long time. I always wondered, “what would it look like?, what would I write about?, would anyone follow along?”
Growing up I’ve always had an urge to create. Whether it was hand-sewing a dress for my American Girl doll as a little girl or taking three art classes a day as a senior in high school, I always found an outlet to let my creativity run free. Now, as an adult who brings marketing campaigns to life, that passion still stands strong and vibrant as ever.
Since the beginning of 2019 I began thinking more about my presence on social media and asked myself, “what kind of message am I looking to say?” In the months that followed, my feed shifted from posting just anything to posting with purpose. I realized that I wanted my posts to resonate with my followers, many of whom are young women navigating their 20s, just like myself.
It was after attending a recent blogger event that I decided it was time to create a place to share my own experiences. One small post on my Instagram feed left me wishing I had more room to share my thoughts. I have always had a deep love for all things fashion, beauty, life, travel, fitness, etc. and I have been craving the opportunity to dive deeper into these topics. Creating this blog means creating a bigger space to discuss the things I'm passionate about. A place to start conversations and share what brings me joy.
What’s in a Name?
When brainstorming what to call this happy place of mine, I wanted it to encompass who I am, what I love, and how I live life. If you know me personally, you know that roses hold a dear place in my heart. One of my middle names is Rose, my dog is named Rosie, I love all things rose gold, and roses will be the bloom of choice for my upcoming wedding. However, over the course of my life, the word has taken on much more meaning than just association to people or things.
Living life through rose colored glass means having an optimistic perception and viewing life in a positive way - which is exactly what I hope to deliver to you here. My goal for Rose Colored Living is to encourage and motivate my readers with content that inspires them to chase their dreams, try new things, step outside of their comfort zone, and make this world a more positive place to be.
