City Celebrations: A Weekend in Philly

My dear friend Meagan and I first met when we were teenagers. What started as a fellow coworker relationship, working side-by-side at a candy store, blossomed into a beautiful 11+ year friendship. It's crazy to think we celebrated her 30th birthday just this past weekend!

When Meagan asked if Andrew and I would like to join her celebrations in Philadelphia, I didn't think twice before saying, ABSOLUTELY! We're always up for a fun adventure and I knew Meagan would have some amazing ideas for this monumental birthday.

Eclectic Accommodations

Upon arrival, Andrew and I checked into the vibrant Aloft Philadelphia Downtown, a boutique-style hotel centrally located in Center City. We instantly fell in love with the bright and eclectic style that is carried throughout the hotel's lobby, restaurant, and guest rooms. Our favorite spot was the welcoming Backyard Terrace that invites guests to enjoy cocktails or grab a small bite.

An Afternoon Around Town

Andrew and I love exploring Philadelphia! Many times we head down to South Street, but this trip we decided to hang out around Center City. Our first stop was Reading Terminal Market for lunch, which if you have never been it's absolutely worth the visit! This indoor marketplace offers everything imaginable from ready-to-order food, fresh flowers, produce, meats, and so much more.

Since it was such a gorgeous day, following lunch we decided to take a quick 15 minute walk over to Rittenhouse Square. This beautiful little area is straight out of a movie! A picturesque park sits in the middle, lined by the trendiest shops and restaurants. We enjoyed strolling the park, taking in the sights, and even grabbing a quick afternoon drink at The Dandelion.

Celebrating in Center City

A quick nap and outfit change later, it was time to kick off Meagan's evening birthday celebrations! Our group headed to Osteria, a stunning restaurant located on North Broad Street offering classic Italian cuisine. Below the twinkling lights and the lush greenery of Osteria's breathtaking glass-enclosed patio we sipped swanky cocktails, shared delicious Italian dishes, and enjoyed the company of one another around the table.

Plus de Mimosas S'il Vous Plaît

What better way to end our weekend celebrations than with a brunch at one last beautiful restaurant! Following check-out, we headed over to Parc, a gorgeous French restaurant located right on Rittenhouse Square.

I have heard the hype around this spot for years, so Andrew and I decided it was time to give it a try! This place gets quite busy, so reservations are a must. Upon checking in we were quickly seated in the cutest window seat facing the park. The open doors allowed for the the cool morning breeze to flow past us as we enjoyed the most delicious breakfast pastry basket, warm cafe au laits, and savory egg dishes - we were truly in brunch heaven!

By the time we hit the road to head back home, it was hard to believe this little getaway was a mere 24 hours of time! Andrew and I, along with the sweetest friends, had an absolutely wonderful visit and we look forward to our next trip to the City of Brotherly Love!
