The Best Denim I've Ever Worn
In the famous words of Shakira, “my hips don’t lie.” My entire life I have truly dreaded shopping for jeans, right behind bathing suits, and don’t even get me started on shorts! I cannot begin to tell you how many times I have sat in a dressing room feeling absolutely defeated…and I KNOW I am not alone.
Fall always makes me think about buying denim. I think it’s because I used to pick out a few new pairs every year during back to school shopping. The deals are always the best this time of year and many brands release new styles. This year I stumbled upon American Eagles new AE 360 Ne(X)t Curvy Denim for women. As soon as I saw this new line of jeans, I knew I needed to test them out and what resulted was the best denim experience of my life.
These jeans, quoted as, “the denim you have been dreaming of,” were EVERYTHING I have ever wanted in a pair of jeans, so I decided to try out three different styles: jegging, skinny, and flare.
Note: This line of denim is available in sizes 00-24 and lengths x-short through x-long. I have included my sizing to provide a reference for how each style fit my 5’6 height.

These were hands-down my favorite pair out of the three styles. This pair was very fitted in the hips, thighs, calves, and ankles, but also incredibly stretchy. These jeans would fit smoothly under any type of tall boots and where I would normally experience “gapping” in the back of the waist, these were perfectly snug and accentuated my curves.

Similar to the jeggings, however this pair came in a darker wash and featured a slightly lower waist and looser fit. Still this pair fit like a dream! Whereas the jeggings would be great with tall boots, this skinny style would work well with low-cut booties, flats, or sandals. My only con would be the length. While I remained the same jean size, the regular length was far too long with this pair and I had to exchange for a shorter length.

Flare jeans hold a special place in my heart. They are certainly not everyone’s style, but I have always loved them. Something about the way they hug the hips but balance out my shape makes me feel so confident in this style.
What I loved the most about this pair was the super high waist that I also found in the jeggings. This higher rise perfectly cinched at my natural waistline and prevented any gapping or having to wear a belt. I will note that I recommend ordering a longer length if you are looking to wear with heeled shoes, which will also help your legs also appear longer #winning.
As you can tell, I have completely fallen in love with this new line of denim! Each pair fit like a glove, was comfortable to move in/sit down, and held the shape during hours of wear.
