Boutique Chic Stay in Clearwater Beach, FL
Andrew and I went on the same vacation every year, for five years straight and to be honest, we loved it. We always had our itinerary of must-visit bars and restaurants where we would enjoy our must-order drinks and food. We knew the beach, the streets, and how to best get around town. It was, and still is, our happy little beach getaway.
But like all things, we came to a point where we knew it was time for a change. While we have traveled to plenty of places in our near 6-year relationship, there are SO many more destinations we would like to explore. Life flies by and I know that our 2020 wedding will be here before we know it, then a family, then we’re sending our future kids off to college and wishing we took that trip in our 20s. Okay, hopefully not that quick, but you know what I mean.
Back in February we came to this realization while sitting at dinner and googled “best US beaches” – Clearwater Beach, FL popped up. After some quick research we knew this would be the spot to break us out of our "half -decade vacation rut."

Destination Determined, But Where to Stay?
As someone who travels frequently for my career, I’ve experienced it all with big name hotels – some good, some bad. However, I wanted this trip to be a different kind of hotel experience for Andrew and I, so we set our search on a smaller boutique hotel. Quickly, we stumbled upon Hotel Cabana Clearwater Beach.
Hotel Cabana Clearwater Beach is a boutique hotel located in North Clearwater Beach, FL. They weren’t lying when they said, “there’s nothing standard about our boutique chic, Key West inspired guest rooms and suites, which offer all of the amenities needed to enjoy home away from home in Clearwater Beach!”
Upon arrival we instantly knew we made the right decision. With its newly renovated property and perfectly manicured landscaping, Hotel Cabana is truly Instagram #goals. At check-in we were greeted by the property manager, who was the absolute sweetest. Not only did she make sure we settled in, but she also provided us with a vast list of recommendations for restaurants, bars, transportation, local hot spots, and so much more.
“Our Bungalow”
Andrew and I stayed in one of the hotel’s Petite Suites, which we named “The Bungalow” during our stay. While our room was indeed petite, it provided everything we needed for a week in the Sunshine State. Our room was outfitted with a queen size bed complete with crisp white linens, a dresser and closet to store our belongings, a large flat screen TV, a sparkling bathroom with walk-in shower, and my favorite item in our room: a sky-blue Igloo mini fridge. Sadly, it was too big to fit in my luggage to bring home.
Just a few steps from our suite was the gorgeous pool area where guests could lounge under chic white umbrellas or cool off from the ever-present Florida heat.
Every morning guests are invited to the pool area to enjoy a complimentary cup of Kahwa coffee, a deliciously bold local favorite. In addition to the coffee, the main office offers an impressive selection of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for guests to enjoy. The custom koozies and cups offered are a must-have too!
Location, Location, Location
Hotel Cabana is located on the Northern end of Clearwater and was only 1 block away from the beach and a short 10-minute walk from Pier 60, the epicenter of this Florida beach town. The northern location also gave us the advantage of enjoying a less crowded beach during the day, especially appreciated on the 4th of July holiday.
With a variety of restaurants, bars, and shops close-by we were never bored during our trip. By the end of our week stay, we had grown to love our home away from home and were sad to say farewell to the Hotel Cabana family.

If you are looking for a one-of-a-kind boutique hotel experience in Clearwater Beach, Andrew and I absolutely recommend Hotel Cabana. To learn more about the hotel, visit their website and make sure to follow along their stunning social media, @hotelcabanacwb on Instagram.
