28 Facts for My 28th Birthday
Updated: Nov 9, 2020
Hello everyone! As you are reading this post, Andrew and I are headed down to the beach for a little birthday getaway and I am truly SO excited to be breaking free. I don't know about you, but we can sure use some rest and relaxation from last few crazy months we've had.
Tomorrow, July 2nd, is my 28th birthday! I still can't believe that I'm in my 'late twenties' and quickly approaching a new decade of life. If this pandemic hasn't made me think about all the things I still want to do in life, this birthday sure has. Right now I'm in this phase of life where I want to be a career woman and grow my blog and travel the world and save money and get married and buy a house and have fun - ya know how I feel?!
I'm in the phase of wanting to do it all - and while sometimes it feels overwhelming, I think it's a good place to be at 28. Because while I'm adding a new number to my age, I still feel like I have my whole life ahead of me, and that's pretty exciting.
So to celebrate 28 years of life, I'm sharing 28 fun facts about me!
Being born on July 2nd, the number '2' is very special to me. Andrew was born April 22, Rosie on March 2, and Lacey on September 22.
If you haven't already guessed, my favorite color is pink.
I dream of having a big white kitchen.
I'm 5'6 - and have been since I was 12 years old.
I was a classically trained ballerina for 10 years.
My fiance and I met our senior year at Penn State.
I've never left the United States, but I dream of visiting Italy and France.
I have 3 middle names: Samantha Kourtney Anne Rose Shewan
I chose to major in advertising because I wanted to create magazine ads (and I can now say I have).
I've been a fitness instructor for the past 4 years, teaching cycling, BodyBlast, and tabata.
I LOVE potatoes in all forms: fried, mashed, scalloped, baked - doesn't matter, I'll eat them.
I once stood for 46 hours as a dancer in the Penn State Dance Marathon.
I would own 4 Yorkies if I could.
Before I landed my first marketing job, I was going to audition to be a Disney princess.
Whether cake or ice cream, I will ALWAYS choose vanilla.
But that doesn't mean I don't like chocolate - I worked in a chocolate store for 8 years.
I would wear a dress every day if I could!
Growing up, I disliked my July birthday because I could never bring cupcakes into school.
I have 44,000 photos on my phone currently. Yes, 44 THOUSAND.
If I was in a movie, I would want my entrance song to be 'She's So High' by Tal Bachman.
My dream job is to work in marketing for the beauty industry...
or to take my blog full time.
If I could choose my last meal it would be a cheese steak and cheese fries from Pat's King of Steaks in Philadelphia along with a LARGE pepperoni pizza from Sabatini's Pizza with a side of ranch (clearly I've thought this one out lol)
I run 4 Instagram accounts: my personal, 2 dogs, 1 company account.
My dogs' original names were Baby-Girl (Rosie was named Baby, Lacey was named Girl).
I'm a white wine drinker and almost never drink reds.
Andrew takes all my blog photos. Nearly everything you see here on the blog or on social media is a result of his help.
I've spent at least half of my 28 birthdays at the beach and I'm very happy to be spending this one down the shore.
Hope you enjoyed getting to learn a little bit more about me. Wishing you a beautiful holiday weekend!
